What does the NakedURL audit check?
We run 60+ checks across 8 categories: meta tags (title, description, keywords, Open Graph, Twitter Cards, canonical, hreflang), content & readability (word count, Flesch, Flesch‑Kincaid, Gunning Fog, SMOG, tone of voice), structured data (JSON‑LD validation, schema types, FAQPage detection), link health (internal/external counts, broken links), sitemap & crawl (sitemap.xml parsing, robots.txt, special files like llms.txt, security.txt), security & performance (security headers, TTFB, page size, SSL, performance grade), and analytics detection (GA, GTM, Facebook Pixel). We do not use third‑party APIs – all analysis is done locally by parsing your page.
Is the audit really free?
Yes – completely free, with no sign‑up, no credit card, and no hidden limits. You can run as many audits as you like.
Do I need an account?
No. Just enter a URL and get your report instantly. No registration or email required.
What is GEO and why does it matter?
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the practice of optimising your content for AI‑powered search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude. We check four pillars: llms.txt (a summary file for AI), FAQ schema (structured Q&A), question headings (H2/H3 with question marks), and AI bot access (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google‑Extended). A high GEO score increases your chances of being cited in AI answers.
How is my SEO score calculated?
The SEO score is a weighted average of five categories: Meta Tags (title, description, social), Structure & Content (headings, images, links, schema), Social & Open Graph, Performance & Accessibility, and AI Readiness (GEO). Each category contributes to the final score, helping you see where you need to improve.
Do you show third‑party authority metrics like Ahrefs DR or Moz DA?
No. We do not use any third‑party APIs or external services. Our audit is completely self‑contained and runs entirely on your server. We count internal and external links, detect broken links, and analyze link structure – but we don't fetch Domain Rating or Authority Scores from external providers.
Can I audit any website?
Yes – any publicly accessible website can be audited. There are no restrictions on domain, hosting, or technology stack.
How long does the audit take?
Most audits complete in 10‑30 seconds, depending on your server speed and the complexity of the page. You’ll see results almost instantly.
What should I do with the audit results?
Start with critical issues (marked red) – they are the biggest blockers. Then move to high‑priority items (orange). Each recommendation includes a clear “why” and “how”, so you can fix problems step by step. Re‑audit after changes to track your improvement.
What is llms.txt and why do I need it?
llms.txt is a plain text file that provides a high‑level summary of your website for large language models (LLMs). It helps AI engines like ChatGPT and Claude understand your content structure, improving the likelihood that they cite your site. We check if the file exists and is accessible.
Does NakedURL store my data?
No. Audits are run on the fly and are not stored permanently. Cache entries expire after a few hours – your data is never shared or sold.
How can I use AI to improve my SEO?
After running an audit, copy the recommendations and paste them into an LLM like ChatGPT or Claude with a prompt like: “Generate code to fix these SEO issues for my [framework] site.” The AI can give you specific code snippets, content improvements, or configuration changes.
